Your Profile
Your profile page contains your account settings and preferences. Access it from the user menu in the top-right corner of the screen — click your avatar and select Your Profile.
Name
Your first and last name are shown to other team members when you're collaborating. They appear as cursor labels during real-time editing and in team member lists. Update your name at any time and click Save.
Profile Picture
Chapel Screen uses Gravatar for profile pictures. Your avatar is linked to your email address. To change it, visit gravatar.com and upload a new image for the same email address you use to sign in to Chapel Screen.
Default Bible Translation
When you insert Bible content into a presentation and don't specify a translation (e.g. you type "Psalm 23" instead of "Psalm 23 NIV"), Chapel Screen uses your default translation.
Select your preferred translation from the dropdown. If set to None, you'll need to include the translation in every Bible reference.
During events, the team's default Bible translation is used instead — you can set that from the team settings page.
Password
Chapel Screen supports two login methods that work side by side:
- Magic link — a one-time sign-in link sent to your email (the default)
- Password — a traditional password you set from your profile
Setting a Password
If you don't have a password yet, you can set one from your profile page. Enter your new password (at least 8 characters) and confirm it. Once set, you can use either your password or a magic link to sign in.
Changing Your Password
To change an existing password, enter your current password along with the new one. If you signed in via a magic link, you can change your password without entering the current one — but only within a short time after signing in.
Setting or changing your password signs you out on every other device and browser. The device you make the change on stays signed in. Revoking a change (below) signs out every device, including the one that made the change.
Revoking a Password Change
Every time your password is changed, Chapel Screen sends a notification email to your address. If you didn't make the change, the email contains a link to revoke it: open the link and confirm with Revoke Password Change to restore your previous password. Each link works once, is valid for 24 hours, and only applies while the change it refers to is still your current password — if the password has been changed again since, use the link from the most recent notification instead.
Push Notifications
Chapel Screen can send you a push notification when a new team chat message arrives while you're away. In the Notifications section of your profile, click Enable Push Notifications and allow notifications when your browser asks. The setting is per browser and per device — enable it on each device where you want to be notified.
To stop notifications, click Disable in the same section. If you previously blocked notifications for Chapel Screen, your browser's site settings must allow them again before the button reappears.
Push notifications are only used for team chat messages — nothing else. They work best when Chapel Screen is installed as an app.
Team Invitations
When someone invites you to a team, the invitation appears on your Invitations page (also accessible from the user menu). You can accept or decline each invitation. If you were invited before creating your account, the invitation will be waiting for you when you first sign in.
